hiya! i've followed your blog for a while, and just found your tumblr! yay! i wondered what hair dye you use? ive wanted that color for the longest time and used manic panic's atomic turquoise but it turned out blue :0( help!!!
I’m going to do a proper hair dye blog post one of these days but until then:
I use Punky Colour from Jerome Russell and always have. Punky Colour seems to work the best for my hair and the color stays true for quite a while. Back in the day I always used “Atlantic Blue” which starts out true blue and fades to a more cyan color after a week or two. Now that my hair is super long and I need more dye, I’ve actually been mixing “Atlantic Blue” and “Turquoise”, which is what is in my hair currently. :) ”Turquoise” on it’s own was too green for my tastes.
“The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and somthing else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case.”—Chuck Close (via animusv0x)
