“Girl Don’t Tell Me” is a song written by Brian Wilson for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was released on their 1965 album Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!). Featuring Carl Wilson on Lead. In December 1965, it was chosen to be the B-side to The Beach Boys’ “Barbara Ann.”
It is one of the few Beach Boys songs from the era to feature no backing vocals. Brian Wilson claimed in his autobiography Wouldn’t It Be Nice that he wrote this song for The Beatles to record.

I’d never heard this B-side until we recently got a great Beach Boys “Greatest Hits” record. When I heard it, I was struck by how much it reminded me of the Shins’ sound. So I’m pretty stoked with this cover:
